Meet Charlie

Charlie is an adorable miniature Shetland. He was rescued by HorseWorld at the start of 2020 after being contacted by the RSPCA. He had been found at his home with severely overgrown hooves that had not been trimmed for a very long time, and severe laminitis. Thanks to the great work of the team here, Charlie made a full recovery. His hooves have been correctly trimmed and his grazing is being managed carefully to prevent further laminitis.

He is an extremely loveable chap, with an incredibly sweet personality, who wants to be friends with every pony on site! One of his favourite tricks is escaping through the fencing... but he's always more than happy to be caught and returned to where he was supposed to be!

Charlie works on our Discovery programme helping young people through equine-assisted learning. As you can imagine. he is one of the students' favourite Discovery pony to work with because he is so cute!
